Jigsaw Puzzles is actually a good area for Tolkien collecting, it is reasonably limited in scope, there are both older and newer items, items are not too obscure and met can be hunted down.
There is relatively little information around about Tolkien Jigsaw Puzzles and I don't think some of the series below are complete (some of those from the movies).

The biggest challenge in collecting puzzles is for the puzzles to be complete, unless the item is original sealed inveriably pieces are missing.
This guide consists of mainly UK and American items, there is probably a lot more items from other countries.
The Undergound Jigsaw Puzzle
These are the oldest of the Tolkien puzzles and the most collectable.
